A Warm Sweet Scarf
The quiet hallway drew me back indoors as evening settled in, and a faint, sweet smell guided my paws toward the kitchen counter. Resting beside a round wooden breadboard was a freshly folded tea towel, still gently holding the lingering heat of baked cinnamon crusts. I climbed onto a small overturned basket and leaned against the textured fabric. It smelled like toasted sugar and melted butter... soft, comforting, and wonderfully deep. I tugged a corner of the cloth over my paws and sat very still, letting the fading warmth soak into the quiet night.
