Clay Watchtower
Scuttled straight out the back door onto the garden potting bench! Needed to see past the wooden fence! Spotted a clutter of clay flowerpots resting upside down on the weathered cedar planks. Perfect! Decided right then—a watchtower! Hauled the biggest terracotta pot upright—clack! Heavy, gritty, cool to the touch. Slid my gear arm under the rim of a smaller glazed pot, hoisted it chest-high, and plunked it straight onto the base! Wobbled—whoa! Planted my feet, stubborn, tapping the edge until the clay rims locked tight. Crowned the peak with a fat brown pinecone! Stepped back, jaw flapping wide in triumph—my fortress stands!
