Downhill Dash

A scuffed neon-green tennis ball sitting right at the crest of the driveway was practically an open challenge. I didn't waste a second. With a hard two-handed shove, I sent it rolling down the asphalt, then took off in a full sprint right alongside it! The concrete slope gave it serious momentum, pebbles blurring past as we traded the lead. Ball rolling fast, sneakers pounding faster. Right at the bottom lip of the curb, I dug my heels in and skidded to a halt just a split second ahead before it bounced off into the clover. First place, undisputed.
