Hallway Reconnaissance
Crawling out of that cozy wool sock shelter was step one; figuring out what lies down the wide hallway was step two. I spotted a shiny yellow plastic tape measure dropped near the doorframe, its metal tab glinting in the morning light. Naturally, I sprinted over, grabbed that metal tip with both plush hands, and leaned back with all my weight. Zzzzt! The yellow ribbon zapped out three whole feet across the parquet floor before catching, giving me a perfectly straight, bright yellow bridge pointing straight out toward the unknown living room horizon. Ground patrol just laid down its own express track.
