The Leaf Portal
I squeezed past the heavy door flap and rolled right out onto the sunlit porch steps, dragging my silver timer along so we wouldn't miss the future! Wait, is that Phantom Foxy's machine over by the railing? It’s huge, green, and coiled up in giant loops like a snake—or maybe it's just a garden hose, but who knows? Before I could test my dial, my foot hooked on an old flowerpot saucer. Whoosh! My timer skittered down two wooden steps and landed smack in a pile of crunchy oak leaves. When I scrambled down to grab it, I saw tiny ants crawling across the numbers. Did I accidentally jump back to the bug era?
