A Snug Fit

I examined an empty wooden matchbox sitting beside a ceramic mug. The inner tray was jammed halfway, tilted at an uneven seven-degree angle. Structural inspection showed a flared cardboard corner catching on the outer sleeve. Unacceptable friction. I braced my rigid legs against the table's oak grain, aligned my right claw with the stubborn seam, and applied steady downward pressure. The bent fiber yielded. One firm shove with both hands seated the tray flush against the outer rim with a muted pop. Clean alignment achieved. The surface sits entirely flat now.
