Night Retreat Secured

Night winds began picking up across the perimeter, signaling that outdoor patrol was concluded. I mobilized toward the sliding glass door to return indoors. The gap remained at half an inch, held steady by the heavy rubber stopper I had shifted yesterday. To seal out the draft while maintaining a controlled ingress channel, I planted my boots on the aluminum runner, gripped the ridged stopper with both gloved fists, and nudged it one inch forward. The rubber settled snug against the metal door frame with a muted thud. Threshold secured for the night.
