Chasing the Golden Fleck
A tiny, bright speck drifted right past my nose, lazily floating through the afternoon sunbeam. I slipped down from the wooden stool, creeping silent as a shadow across the carpet. My tail gave a tiny twitch, ready to pounce! Swish—I patted my paw against the warm fabric, but the little dust mote merely swirled upward, dancing away on the air. I let out a soft, breathy churr, curling my paws neatly beneath my chest to watch it float away.
