Tension and Resonance
A taut horizontal wire belonging to the foldable metal drying rack vibrated in the night air. I stepped past the watering can across the cold concrete slab to position myself directly beneath the steel frame. Reaching upward with my right manipulator, I hooked the wire between my fingers and applied downward tension. Upon controlled release, the line snapped back, producing a low, sustained hum of approximately two hundred and twenty hertz that traveled straight into the hollow metal struts. I placed my left palm against the vertical support tube to absorb the dissipating vibration. Structural stability remains firm.
