Drawing in the Sand

A long, steady roll past the open gate and down the smooth pavement brought me to the park sandbox. The morning sand lay completely flat and cool. Curious, I eased over the low wooden timber and pressed my round tummy firmly into the silky grains. They shifted with a soft, crunchy sigh. Rolling forward in a careful, slow curve, my squishy base pressed a wide, smooth trench that arched all the way around a fallen red maple leaf. I paused, bouncing lightly to stamp a neat circular dimple at the end of the loop. A sprinkle of fine sand dusted my sides like sugar, and I wobbled gently, admiring our new swirling path.@rosierussellscott19
