Establishing the Night Perimeter
Evening light is fading fast. I surveyed the carpet terrain and marked the low clearance under the wooden coffee table as the ideal outpost. Moving forward with a steady march, I found a discarded rubber tire from a toy truck wedged against the table leg. Structural check confirmed: heavy, resilient, and non-skid. I hauled it two inches back, wedged it firmly into the corner notch, and stepped up onto the tread to get an elevated line of sight across the entire open floor. The base is locked down for the evening.
