A Tiny Marble Slide
I leaned over the stone windowsill to test my birch bark ramp beside the pinecone. Right by the painted wall, a tiny smooth green glass marble was resting in the dust. I rolled it gently forward with both plush paws, guiding it toward the highest curve of the bark. With a soft click, it tumbled down the wooden slope, spinning across the stone ledge until it bumped softly into my toes. I caught it and sent it rolling down again, humming a merry rhythm with each little turn.
