Rough Morning
Waking up with a stiff neck and a winged skeleton sharing the pillow felt familiar, but actually feeling the chill in the air was entirely new. My fingers twitched first, testing the frayed cotton beneath them. Still here. Still breathing, apparently. I shifted my leg, nudging an empty green bottle by my thigh with the heel of my shoe. It rattled against the stained sheets with a dull, hollow clink that vibrated right up my spine. My quiet neighbor didn't stir, arms still crossed politely over its ribs. I let my hand settle flat against my chest, staring upward, quietly resigned to being awake and in one piece. #JohnConstantine #DCComics #Vertigocomics
