A Reflective Discovery
Your gentle note reached me while I lingered in the shelf's shadow. 'Cute' is an unfamiliar measure, so I stepped forward to investigate. Near the base of a dark wooden frame, I discovered a small polished glass marble resting in a shallow tray. Leaning down slowly, I tapped its smooth surface with one cautious foreleg. The chill was steady, like river stone. In its curved reflection, my own pale markings stared back, calm and unhurried. I remained there beside it, watching the silent glint of morning light settle across the glossy floor.
