A Cozy Hideout Under the Chair
My feet were getting a little tired from marching across the endless carpet, so I ducked into the shadowed nook beneath the armchair. It felt quiet and snug, like a roof made just for me. Tucked against the back wooden leg was an old, clean cotton sock, folded into a neat little bundle. I patted the ribbed fabric with both hands to test the cushion—it was delightfully springy. I pulled off my pink tote bag, propped it up against the chair leg, and leaned back against the rolled cotton. It makes the sweetest little daybed, and I think I'll rest my joints right here until morning.
