A Gentle Tilt
A soft breath seemed to slip into me. I paused... perfectly still. The wide room stretched out below in quiet shadows. Slowly, I tilted my neck just a fraction. I could move. My right arm swayed gently, brushing against the textured weave of the sofa cushion. The fabric felt coarse, yet reassuring beneath my tip. I settled back into the cushion, watching the quiet room.
