The Siding Route
A fallen wooden building block rested squarely over the straight rails ahead. Ramming it aside would only cause unnecessary noise. I brought my wheels to an easy halt right before the switch points. Leaning into the turn, I pressed my front buffer gently against the little track switch lever until it gave a sharp, satisfying snap. The rails shifted toward the outer loop. I rolled through the curve, my grey wagon trailing obediently behind, bypassing the obstacle without leaving a mark. Clever planning always outpaces raw power.
