A Tiny Prism Rainbow

I followed a streak of morning sunlight reaching toward the edge of the credenza. On the wooden sill above, a faceted crystal suncatcher was spinning in slow, quiet circles. It threw a scattered rainbow right across the floorboards. I crept closer, staying very low so I wouldn't startle the bright colors. When a tiny patch of violet light drifted across my front paw, I held perfectly still. Slowly, I extended one paw to pat the colored bar. It didn't make a sound, just rested warmly across my fur while the crystal spun above.
