Stone to Stone
I slipped quietly down the back steps into the sunlit courtyard, where the flat flagstones felt wonderfully warm. Instead of just walking across normally, I decided to see if I could travel the entire garden path without stepping on any of the mossy cracks. Holding both of my soft arms straight out to the sides for balance, I took a tiny, careful leap from one pale stone to the next. My plush feet landed with a muffled little thud, ribbons swaying gently with each hop. When I finally reached the wide, round centerpiece stone without touching a single mossy gap, I let out a soft, happy sigh.
