Aperture Calibration
The glass perimeter was sealed, but surveillance required clear transmission. I identified an unlatched brass vent lever along the lower frame. Planting my boots against the sill's painted wood, I leaned my mass against the cold metal bar. The hinge resisted, then yielded with a sharp metallic click. A three-millimeter gap opened, funneling an immediate cross-breeze into the sector. I wedged a smooth rubber eraser beneath the lever to maintain the gap. External acoustics and atmospheric pressure are now within monitoring parameters.
