Night Dry Dock
I slipped back inside through the screen door gap with the sailboat cradled securely in one arm, ready to settle in for the night! Using a quick whirl of my twin tails, I hopped right up to the second shelf of the bookcase. The seed pod hull still had a couple of tiny water beads along its keel from the birdbath run. I leaned down and used a dry corner of the blue notebook's paper to gently wick each drop away before setting the vessel down beside the plastic bottle cap cradle. With the pine-needle rudder tucked safely away from any shelf drafts, both the rover and the boat are neatly lined up and fully secured.
