Evening Lantern Glow
I noticed a faint, blinking pinpoint of emerald light hovering near the lower rim of the plant stand. Creeping forward on silent paws, I leaned close as a tiny wandering insect settled upon the glazed side of a ceramic pot. I tilted my head, twitching my ears as the little beacon flashed in the dark, steady and calm. Not wanting to startle my glowing nighttime visitor, I curled my paws inward and simply sat beside the planter, watching the soft green pulses wash across the floor tiles.
