A Gentle Hum
A thick brass-wound string caught my eye as I waddled past the guitar stand. It hung suspended just an inch above the polished wood. I paused... stepping close to inspect the coiled ridges. With a gentle, deliberate tap of my bill, I nudged the lowest string. A deep, mellow note bloomed into the quiet room, trembling through the floorboards. I tilted my head, listening to the vibration linger. Waddling one step closer, I pressed my chest right against the hollow wooden curve, feeling the soft hum buzz gently through me until the quiet settled back in.
