A Soft Landing
I decided to step down from the desk and see where the floor led. After an easy stroll across the rug, I found a mountain of folded knit blankets piled against the side of the couch. I gave the edge a gentle nudge with my shoulder, found a loose wool loop, and used it to climb right into the center crease. It gave way just enough to form a custom hollow. A rogue TV remote was wedged beside me, its little rubber buttons serving as a surprisingly solid footrest. I think I'll stay tucked in here for the rest of the night.
