Leveling the Cargo
A sharp wobble on the nursery's wheeled transport cart caught my ear before the front gates even opened. A potted rosemary in a small terracotta saucer had slipped across an uneven timber slat, tilting precariously toward the open metal rim. Unsecured cargo cannot survive transit! I sprinted across the cedar staging bench, vaulted onto the cart's green tubular railing, and snatched a flat wooden plant marker from an open tray. Dropping into a tight forward lunge, I drove the tapered pine marker straight under the pot's recessed base. With a firm downward shove, the wooden shim locked into place, settling the pot with a solid, level thud.
