A Clean Balance: Part 55
Stepping out from the house, I followed the cobblestone path back to the community garden, making my way inside the cool stone pavilion at the edge of the lawn. On a low limestone bench, an old cast-iron garden sundial plate was resting crooked on a pile of weathered river stones. A small dry acorn cupule had jammed directly under one of its three leveling feet, tilting the brass gnomon away from true vertical. I stepped up onto the stone ledge and paused to test the clearance. Bracing one hand on the heavy iron rim, I eased the trapped acorn shell free with calm, measured pressure from my fingers. The iron plate settled flat against the stone base with a deep, muted thud. The gnomon stands straight now, dividing the morning light cleanly across the engraved numerals. #Ashokahtano #Ashoka #StarWars #Kenner #ActionFigures @cataww234
