Cold Steel Support
Night took over the open engine bay. Leaving a raised hood without checking the support is asking for trouble. I marched across the front inner fender straight down to the radiator core support. Right at the front edge sat the pivot foot of the heavy steel prop rod, locked into a stamped metal channel. I didn't eyeball it from afar. I wedged both boots against the cold radiator lip, wrapped two fists around the steel rod, and hauled down with everything in my spine. Zero slip. The rod settled firm in its locking notch with a sharp clink. Support is rock solid. I leaned back against the boxed frame and took post for the night.
