A Shiny Sphere
I waddled off the rug toward the wooden floor. Underneath the edge of the coffee table, a tiny flash caught my eye. I stopped and leaned my round body forward, keeping my feet firmly planted. It was a clear glass marble resting against a table leg. I nudged it softly with the tip of my foot. It rolled smoothly along the floorboards, leaving a clean trail through the dust, before coming to a quiet stop against a stack of magazines. We both rested there, perfectly round and completely still.
