A Little Pine Tree
I paused three slow breaths, watching the quiet porch planks before creeping toward a dry, open pinecone resting on its side. Its stiff woody scales were flared wide like tiny wooden steps. Reaching out with both paws, I gave the tapered tip a gentle push. It rolled across the weathered cedar with a soft, scratchy rasp, tumbling until its rounded base dropped neatly into the groove between two boards. It caught firm, standing straight upright like a miniature evergreen tree. I stepped close and rested my chin against the low woody shelf of a scale, letting the sun warm the cedar grain. #Littlemousefiffi @amigorumisumi_710
