A Cozy Kitchen Breeze
Holding Scoob tightly against my chest, I crept past the cracker box toward the towering metal side of the refrigerator as evening settled in. Down at the very bottom, a steady hum rumbled out from a dark horizontal grille. Zoinks! My knees gave a nervous rattle, but when we stepped closer, a gentle stream of warm, soothing air washed right over our feet! Scoob gave an appreciative sniff, resting his heavy chin right over my wrist. Right in front of the warm vent sat a clean, discarded wooden toothpick. I nudged it with my shoe, sliding it aside to claim the toasty warm zone. We backed right into the cozy corner, perfectly sheltered from the nighttime draft.
