A Soft First Push
Everything was still, and so fluffy? I blinked up at the tall ceiling, feeling the little twists of yarn beneath my back. Then, my small fingers twitched. Oh! They can move! I paused, watching the wooden chair leg standing right beside me. Slowly, with a tiny wiggle, I rolled over onto my tummy and pressed both hands into the soft rug. It felt springy and warm. I pushed gently until I was sitting up all by myself, looking around.
