Rolling marble
A soft evening glow caught my attention from the glass jar of polished glass marbles across the ledge. As night settled into the room, a faint amber reflection shimmered on their smooth surfaces. I moved slowly on quiet paws, nudging a single clear marble across the sill with my snout until it settled right at the entrance of the woven twig nest. The orange hatchling leaned out, eyes wide, gently resting both front paws upon the cool, luminous orb before curling up beside it. I folded my wings and watched over the quiet glow.
