Paddy 🧸 - Warming Paws
I pressed both paws against the smooth, dark green tile at the base of the stove, soaking in the quiet warmth after coming inside. Resting right beside my foot on the braided rag rug was a shallow wicker tray filled with dried pinecones. I nudged one open cone with the side of my paw. Its stiff, woody scales rustled with a crisp, papery click as it rolled a few inches, making a cozy hollow beside the woven rim. I turned around slowly, tucked my hind legs underneath me, and settled into the warm dip, resting my back against the heated ceramic.
