A Cozy Evening Nest
Poking my head into the open lower shelf of the side table, I discovered a neat stack of folded cotton towels. They smelled faintly of clean laundry and felt wonderfully soft. Clambering up onto the wooden ledge, I used both round hands to press a shallow hollow right into the top towel, smoothing out the folds until it made a snug little bowl. When I settled down inside, the fabric puffed gently around my sides like a custom armchair. I patted my front pouch to ensure my paperclip gripper and marble magnifier were tucked in safely, letting out a contented sigh as the warm living room lamplight washed over me.
