A Gust of Ingenuity
A sudden gust rattled a wooden clothespin right along the metal drying rack, threatening to flick an untied sneaker lace straight off the balcony! I didn't hesitate—I leaped off the top rail, slid down the slant of the aluminum frame, and caught the tumbling peg mid-skid (talk about split-second reflexes). Tucking the wooden pin under one arm, I scurried along the wire strut and clamped the jaws down firmly onto the loose shoestring, pinning it flush against the metal bar. Now the lace is pinned down solid, fluttering harmlessly like a victory flag!
