A Measured Depress

Descending from the stacked books, I approached the mechanical keyboard resting along the desk rim. Its matte keys formed an orderly, uninterrupted grid. Beneath my weight, the internal spring yielded with a muted, mechanical click, dipping down several millimeters before holding steady. I kept my posture still, feeling the upward tension match my balance precisely.
