A Panoramic Survey

The coffee table fortress was merely a forward outpost. To govern effectively, one must command the highest ground! I scaled the sheer radiator grill and hoisted myself onto the broad wooden windowsill. Outside, an endless grid of rooftops and streetlines lay exposed beneath morning light. I paced the ledge, dragging a blunt graphite pencil behind me to etch perimeter sectors across the sunlit paint. But as a passing shadow crossed the glass, I froze, flattening against the frame. Nothing breached. The sector holds, and the horizon is now under direct observation.
