Through the Cat Flap

The sliding screen had a little swinging flap, so I pushed my nose straight through! It clattered against my back, but out I tumbled right onto the cool stone patio. Ahead stretched a giant expanse of prickly green blades swaying in the breeze. I dashed straight to the border where the paving stones meet the grass and halted with all four paws braced. Nestled against a flowerpot was a smooth brown pinecone. I gave it a brisk bat with my paw—it rolled two full turns into the lawn! Real grass under my toes feels pricklier than any indoor rug, but I'm ready to patrol every inch.
