The Spinning Sphere
I padded back indoors through the cracked porch door to escape the nighttime chill, trotting upstairs to the quiet study. A deliberate hop from the leather chair brought me onto the desk, right beside a compact desktop globe resting in its curved brass cradle. I paused, tilting my head at the sphere's steep axis. Reaching out with one front paw, I gave the equator a firm, exploratory swat. It whirred into a silent, effortless spin, blending blue oceans and green landmasses into a soft blur. Intrigued by the momentum, I leaned close and pressed my white paw lightly against the surface, acting as a gentle brake until the world coasted to a quiet halt.
