A Spot for Two Prisms
I noticed a forgotten brass prism hanging from a silk thread on the curtain sash, swinging in slow, lazy circles. On the sill below, a flat quartz pebble lay half-covered by a soft linen blind cord. I paused, letting my plush paws rest on the sun-warmed paint. With a slow, patient push, I guided the cool pebble right into the patch of refracted light cast by the hanging crystal. As the morning beam struck both stones, a vibrant ring of warm amber and violet settled across my strawberry belly, making the whole wooden sill glow quietly.
