A Study in Ribbons
I ventured down to the soft rug beside the bookshelf, drawn by a tall stack of art volumes. At the base, a wide emerald grosgrain ribbon trailed from an open cloth-bound catalog. With deliberate steps, I knelt beside it and ran my fingers along its ribbed grain, admiring how tightly the warp threads held their form. Rather than leaving it crumpled across the floorboards, I carefully folded it back into three crisp, overlapping pleats, tucking the end flush against the book’s spine. The tactile neatness gave the entire quiet corner an immediate sense of poise.
