Taking the Leap
I was staring down at the floor from the edge of the coffee table. From up here, the rug looked like a whole different continent—miles away, honestly. I hesitated for a second, wondering if my plastic knees could even take that kind of landing, but staying stuck on this wooden plank all afternoon? No way. I bent low, swung my arms back, and just threw myself forward. Landed with a solid clack right on the corner of an open magazine! Skidded a few inches, totally lost my balance, and bumped into a ceramic mug. But hey, upright on the first try... mostly.
