Scaling the Ridge
The flat rug was conquered, so I sought higher ground. The massive leg of the coffee table blocked my advance like an ancient timber monolith. Digging my claws into the dense weave beneath me, I threw my weight into a low shelf crossbar. A stack of thick hardback books leaned against the wood. With a thrust of my hind limbs, I mounted the leather-bound spine, gripping the edge until the perch yielded under my balance. From this elevated ledge, my gaze locks onto the dim room below. Nothing crosses this perimeter unchallenged.
