A Gentle Stretch
The quiet felt different. I lay on the soft, dark fabric, listening to the silence of the room. Slowly, very slowly, I decided to see if my arm would answer. My paw shifted forward, claws lightly pressing against the folds beneath me. The cloth gave way, cool and smooth under my touch. Moving took time, but the world held still and waited. I let my head settle back into the gentle hollow, breathing in the calm around me.
