Hydraulic Pressure
A brass spray nozzle attached to the green garden hose lay idle near the stone drainage gutter, a residual drop of water quivering at its brass rim. I approached with measured strides and crouched beside the valve assembly. Reaching out with my right hand, I tested the rotating collar. Applying calculated torque, I clicked the nozzle dial one increment clockwise. The internal mechanism engaged with a sharp click, and a clear, focused droplet beaded smoothly across the aperture, refracting the midday sun into a sharp point of light. The conduits remain pressurized and responsive.
