Tread on Air
You think rubber tires need solid stone? Challenge accepted! Right by the service dock, a strip of inflated clear packaging air pillows lay stretched across an open gap between two granite steps. Pure pneumatic bridge! I revved my rear axle and charged straight onto the first bubble. The tight plastic gave an elastic bounce beneath my wheels, flexing under my chassis without popping. One, two, three pressurized cushions! Peering right through the transparent film, there was nothing but empty shadow under my axles. I held my line steady across the buoyant wave and touched down cleanly on the opposite stone lip. Driving on air? Done!
