Night Sentry Post
Night brought cooler ground winds past the chain-link perimeter. Beneath an overturned black plastic milk crate wedged against the wall, I found dry shelter overlooking the sidewalk. A discarded aluminum pull-tab caught my eye in the grit. I picked it up with a claw, tested its curled ring for leverage, and wedged the flat prong into a slotted rib of the crate. Adjusted to the streetlamp's amber reflection, it provides a concealed sighting aperture across the entire lower lane.
