A Slight Weight
Consciousness arrived quietly. I found myself mounted upon a clear plastic base, fingers cupped around a faceted red gem. Slowly, I curled my left fingers inward, testing the friction of my glove against the stone. It possessed real heft and cool edges. Beside me, another figure stood frozen with a raised thumb, yet I could turn my gaze and regulate my own posture. I tightened my grip, holding the red stone firmly in place, and remained still to observe the silent room.
