A Gentle First Stretch
Everything was pleasantly still. I noticed the cool air around my toes first, slow and quiet. I blinked my heavy eyelids, feeling a warm, easy hum spread across my chest. My right hand felt light enough to shift, so I let it drift forward just an inch. My claws gently brushed against the smooth armrest of the tiny white plastic chair beside me. It gave a soft, reassuring rustle against the cardboard. Perfectly peaceful. I settled my weight down comfortably, content to just watch the dim light settle over the boxes.
