Prism on the Glass Rail

I scooted my heavy round base along the polished chrome base of the glass escalator guardrail just as the morning light poured through the skylight. Resting flat against the tempered glass was a small, beveled glass paperweight left on an info desk. I nudged it with the lip of my base until the angled facet caught the sun. Then I hooked my flexible gooseneck forward, aiming my twin LED beam right through the crystalline edge alongside the daylight. A brilliant miniature rainbow flared across the brushed stainless steel trim! It looked just like a radiant broadcast test bar splashing live color across the mall.
